MY APPROACH
I am a creative visual thinker with a scientific basis in food and botanical medicine. Whether in my kitchen or on the production floor at 3:00 AM in the morning my passion lies in making products with excellent flavor, texture and function within the halo of health and wellness. CPG success is a simple formula of “flavor, flavor, flavor, function.” With over 40 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing my perspective allows me to assist companies in invention and innovation of new products and proactively identifying risks/challenges that can be very expensive and damaging to your brand.
No project is too small or too big. I have a wealth of world-class experience and can navigate the complexities involved in the development and commercialization of any consumer packaged goods. I love a challenge!
I have worked with some of the worlds largest companies and now enjoy working with the entrepreneurial and start ups where the field is young, inquisitive and ripe for the next new thing.
Product Development is one part art, part science and one part curiosity. My nature is to educate and mentor the process of product design, prototyping, and commercialization.
WORKING WITH PURPOSE- A Guru
“Gu” means darkness or obscure, turbid, heavy, dull, foggy, muddled, and confused. “Ru” by contrast means light or awakened, clear, vital, and energized. A “Guru” therefore has the know-how and ability to uncover what is hidden or unknown and bring it into life.
In addition to my passion for food science, I’ve spent the last 40 years in the culinary arts and immersed in scholarly study and practice of Ayurvedic, Classical Chinese, and Naturopathic Medicine. I believe in the moto “the body keeps the score” and so the foods we eat should be delightful and flavorful while also contributing to our basic quality of life and to the planet from which we come.
