GURU FOOD DESIGN: WORKING WITH PURPOSE
Gu means darkness or obscure, turbid, heavy, dull, foggy, muddled and confused. Ru by contrast means light or awakened, clear, vital and energized. A Guru, therefore, has the knowhow and ability to uncover what is hidden or unknown and bring it to life. Product Development is an art and a science. I’ll assist you in the process of product design, prototyping and execution. Working within the food industry for more than 40 years has given me a wealth of world class experience and an ability to navigate the complexities involved in the development and commercialization of any consumer packaged good. In addition to food science & technology I have also spent the last 40 years in culinary arts and the scholarly study and practice of Ayurvedic, Classical Chinese and Naturopathic Medicine. I apply these disciplines to create any product with the greatest possibility of flavor and function. I believe the foods we eat should be delightful and flavorful while also contributing to our basic quality of life.

I am creative, scientific and passionate about my work. As a visual thinker I offer a very innovative agile mind with the ability to see future success and possible failures. Not only will I help you create spectacular products but I also will help insure you do not make mistakes in the process which can be very expensive, damaging to brand, budgets and your ability to sleep through the night. I have worked with highly skilled marketers and am keenly aware of the ultimate importance of consumers and consumer driven market research. I work within these confines for the greatest overall success of my clients. Some companies have a strong vision and I help them achieve it in ways they might not have imagined. Others are less sure and I help guide them through the design process to formulate, launch or improve their products.
